UPDATE 1/3/2021!

Hey, guys! What's up?
Sorry for being late, I overslept >< I'm much better now  though! The programming is doing well!

- 21 pages are programmed in and I did some intense polishing--especially on the branchings ^.^)/ I revisited horror movies and similar novels to get in the mood, like Constantine, Ready or Not, the Devil Elevator, the Conjuring... QuQ they're good but I still can't handle the jumpscares. Strangely, I'm okay writing them *cough* so a little warning here, but you might feel that the genre suddenly jumps from fantasy to dark-fantasy-slash-horror after you meet the antagonist.

- Added new sound effects, edited the enemy sprites, and added 2 new BGMs (tense & horror)! These are technical things that I fiddle with often.  To give more impact and the likes ><

Hmm, the bad end I wrote this time isn't quite satisfying. But maybe I should keep the big guns for the bachelors' bad ends OuO)b
After all, bitterness and hardship will enhance the sweetness of happy ends!

Other than that, I'm bracing myself for the battle scenes ahead >_<;
There's more than one battle scene, each will involve lots of special effects and moving sprites. It'll take lots of time because I need to check them repeatedly (whether the sprites move like I want them to, positioning, etc...). There's going to be a scene dedicated to explaining the mystery revolving around the Spring Village, but after that? More battle scenes x'D

Let's continue working hard, everyone! But don't skip your meals and rest plenty!
xoxo,

SweetChiel

Q&A session part 31! If you have any questions for the bachelors, don't hesitate and type away!

1. Which one of you draws better? --by: Sesame seeds

Kahlil: "Me!"

Kahlil: "When I was a child, my dream is to have/work in a toy factory. So of course I need to be able to draw so I can design new, revolutionary toys!"

Guntur: "Can't argue with that. My drawing is limited to stick man figures. Arya might be better at drawing than me."

Arya: "No, I've never drawn before."

Kahlil: "Oh? It's never too late to start. Tur, bring us a paper and a pencil."

Arya: "Fuck no. What good will it bring for me? I'd rather work."

Kahlil: *pouts* "You're no fun."

2. Do you want kids? If so, how many? --by: Steph :)

Guntur: "In the future?" *chuckle* "Yes, maybe one or two."

Kahlil: "As much as we can afford! Boys or girls, I don't care as long as they're healthy."

Guntur: "I agree. No matter the gender, the most important thing is that they're healthy.

Arya: "........."

Kahlil: "Arya? What's wrong?"

Arya: "I envy you guys for being able to answer so easily."

Arya: "I'm an orphan. I don't have any parental figure to speak of except for the ones who abandoned me. Having children is the last thing on my mind lest I make them as miserable as me."

*Guntur & Kahlil looks at each other for a moment*

*Then, they pulled Arya into a group hug*

Arya: "Fucking get off me--this is why I hate questionnaires! I shouldn't have answered! I don't need your fucking pity!"

Guntur, Kahlil, & me: "We love you, Arya!"

I played the first game and loved it to bits and stumbled upon this demo shortly after. I think it was about a year or two years ago?  I usually forget the visual novel games I play but this one stuck with me because of how unique the concept was. I remember being so invested in the story and happy that I got to see another legend/folklore based game that isn't about Europe, Japan, Korea or China.

And I adore how much character the love interests have. It's rare to find well developed characters in an indie game but here it is. Finding this game again and discovering that it's not abandoned really made my day, thank you so much! I wish I could support you on Patreon but I'm just a broke college student :')

(It's cute how Arya gives off the "must protect" vibe. He's like the youngest child in the family although Guntur is my personal favorite. Reliable, a family man and wont hesitate to set me straight what can i say? plus he's a hunk bwahha.)

Keep up the good work! You've inspired me to start writing my own visual novel based on Philippine Folklore, Although I know next to nothing about programming, Can I ask what programs and tools you're using? I hope to hear from you again soon! XXX

Questions (idk if this has been asked before): Do the cast have any personal philosophies and moral codes they follow?  Do they consider themselves to be currently happy?

Hi, LoveSickBee!
I'm flattered that my VN inspired you and I understand too well about being a broke college student x'D

I really appreciate your support tho! No matter how small, it's the one thing that keeps me up--I'm really self-conscious about how I'm a lot slower compared to other gamedevs so I'm honestly touched to see people are still waiting patiently QuQ you guys are Saints!

As for your questions: I'm using Ren'Py for programming and Photoshop/SAI to make the backgrounds, GUIs, and sprites. I hired someone to make a few original background musics for me, but most of Bermuda's BGM are made by Alcaknight ^.^)b he is a great composer! You can find him at soundcloud! As for the rest, I looked up various websites such as freesound.org for the SFXs (make sure they're licence 0 if you plan to commercial it).

If you're planning to start learning Ren'Py, I recommend looking up a website called 'Lemmasoft'! It's where Visual Novel developers gathers and shares their work ^.^ but most importantly, it has many tutorials! Both for beginner and advanced!

Last but not least, thank you for participating in the Q&A session! I've taken note of your questions~
Don't hesitate to ask me if you have anything else to ask!

Oh my gosh! Thank you so much! I didn't expect such a detailed answer to be honest so I'm touched you took the time to explain things more. I'll definitely look those up, again thanks a bunch! XXX

Lol, it's fun hearing these sorts of updates, especially the bits about BGM stuff or things manipulating character sprites (I don't know how you experienced game devs do it, lol).

Indonesian culture sounds like such a joy to write about when not so many people have heard much about it, and I'm excited to see what'll happen next (though I really should finish the first game and then play the demo for this one, lol).

Hm, would any of the cast enjoy horror movies?

Hi, wagamama keimochi!
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the update -^.^)/ I agree, it's fun to write my culture--I also learned lots of things I didn't know before! But the BGMs are something that I spent lots of time on. I'm really picky and there's not much resource for me to pick so I had to ask a friend to do me a favour :'3 ErdaEnos/Anggi, she's the one who created Reksa's battle music!

Take your time playing Winged Ones! I hope you have fun~

I've also taken note of your question! Thanks for participating with the Q&A session! OuO)b
Happy to see you around~
